Bhubaneswar: A three-member team of Vishakhapatnam police has left Vizag for Odisha as a move to continue its probe into the death of Sambalpur boy Shreayas Keshwani allegedly due to ragging in the Shree Chaitanya Junion College hostel in the coastal city of the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The team led by PM Palem police station officer would first visit the private hospital in Bhubaneswar where Shreyas underwent treatment. Later the team would also visit the hospital in Rourkela where he underwent treatment first after return from Vizag. Then, the team would meet the father of ragging victim Shreyas Kesharwani. The Commissioner of Police had yesterday entrusted PM Palem police with the task of investigation. It may be noted that a team of Sambalpur police had also visited the Shree Chaitanya Junior College and conducted a probe in support of the the Visakhapatnam police. Kesharwani was allegedly ragged by his friends at the college hostel a few days ago. He has sustained critical injuries after being beaten up by three to four students in the hostel. Since the college authorities did not take any step, family members brought Shreyas and put in private hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.
