Bhubaneswar: The Adhar Pana ritual will be conducted on the three Raths of the Trinity, Nandighosh, Taladhwaja and Debedalan, late on tonight.
According to information, three long cylindrical pitchers full of Pana, made of curd, banana and fruits, would be offered to each of the Trinity, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra atop Raths. Accordingly, a total of nine pitchers full of Pana will be offered to the deities.
It is believed that the Pana is prepared on the last day of the Rath Yatra to satisfy spirits moving around there. After Pana is offered to the deities, the pitchers are broken open so that the spirits can have the drink.
The deities would move to the Ratna Simhasan (sanctum sanctorum) of the Shree Mandir on Goti Pahandi tomorrow.
