Bhubaneswar: Odisha has set a record of being first in the country in constructing 7,000 km roads in a year under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, said Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Friday.
Padhi told this to reporters after presiding over the PMGSY State Standing Committee meeting at the State Secretariat.
He said the Government has set a target to construct 13,000 km during the current year under the PMGSY. While 3,500 km of roads have already been constructed by now, the rest would be constructed in the coming three months.
The Government has also set a target to construct 13,000 km roads during the coming fianancial year, 2018-19, Padhi informed.
