Bhubaneswar: Even as the tiger, that had mauled a four-year-old boy and injured two-three others, has been trapped and sent to the Nandankanan zoo, spotting of fresh pugmarks of a tiger has triggered panic in Haladi village in Nuapada district again.
According to reports, as many as 30 pugmarks of a big cat were spotted at the jungle near Haladi village early this morning. A team of forest officials marked the foot marks at the Godhas pond, reports said.
While villagers had heaved a sigh of relief after trapping of the man-eater, the spotting of new pugmarks have again pushed them into a state of fear. “It all indicates that more tigers are staying in the jungle. We have been frightened,” said a villager.
Forest officials have now started a search operation, added reports.
