Almost normalcy in Bhadrak: Curfew relaxed for 14 hrs for 2nd day

Bhubaneswar: Continuing to give breather to denizens, the Bhadrak district administration relaxed curfew for 14 hours in Bhadrak town again from 6 am till 8 pm on Friday again.

Notably, the administration had relaxed curfew for 14 hours on Thursday and 12 hours for a couple of days till Wednesday. Earlier, curfew relaxation was for different hours on different days since April 9 (Sunday).

The administration started imposing curfew in Bhadrak on April 8 as communal violence gripped the town for three days following a derogatory remark on Lord Ram and Devi Sita found posted on the social media, Facebook.

Now almost everything looks normal in the town. However, the administration is still adopting a cautious move with many police personnel guarding the town now. Schools, colleges, Government and private offices, shops and business establishments are operating normally. Similarly, movement of vehicles and other transport services are also usual now.

Gradual lifting of curfew indicates that people belonging to both the communities are returning to good terms. The administration may lift curfew anytime, feel many.
