With mercury soaring to unbearable levels in the State, the State Government on Saturday declared morning classes in schools from April 1. No school will remain open after 10.30 am. Classes in all schools, including those managed by private bodies, has to be rescheduled between 6.30 am and 10.30 am.

After eight days of continued stalemate, the Odisha Assembly on Saturday passed an unanimous resolution fixing minimum support price (MSP) at Rs 2,930 per a quintal of paddy, to be sent to the Union Government for its consideration, after a three-hour-long debate.

1,654 persons register during 2-day PWD camp in city

During the two-day multi-facility Bhima Bhoi Samarthya Sibira which concluded on Saturday here at the Unit VIII Community Centre, a total of 1,654 person with disabilities (PWDs) registered. Out of this cerebral palsy and locomotor disability persons were 250, autism 46, visually challenged 117, speech and hearing 125 and ENT 1 person were registered.
