9 cities in the State to be upgraded as hi-tech towns, 34 projects approved

In another step forward for infrastructure development in 9 AMRUT towns of Odisha, the State Level High Powered Steering Committee (SHSPC) meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in secretariat conference hall today approved Detail Project Reports of 34 projects worth around Rs 538 cr.

Taking Odisha’s efforts to get more trains in its kitty, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wrote to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to roll out new express trains via Nayagarh. He also demanded induction of a new express train from state capital Bhubaneswar to country’s financial capital Mumbai named after legendary Buxu Jagabandhu.

In a latest incident, a petrol pump was caught selling adulterated petrol in Sambalpur district.
