Bhubaneswar: Two days after the migratory bird census completed in Chilika Lake, the wildlife division of the Forest Department has decided to count migratory birds, both country and foreign, at the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary in Kendrapada district today.

As many as 16 teams have been engaged to enumerate birds in five ranges under the Bhitarkanika forest division. The forest ranges where migratory birds would be counted are Jambu, Kujanga, Gahirmatha, Dangamal and Kanika.

Like other wetlands of the State, the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary too witnesses visits of birds from different parts of the country and abroad during every winter.
