Bhubaneswar: Enforcement Directorate (ED) Joint Director Madhav Mishra today met Commissioner of Police YB Khurania at the latter’s office here and discussed financial transactions and irregularities made by Dhalasamanta brothers.
The ED Joint director also discussed the progress of the cases lodged against the notorious criminal brothers, sources said.
The Commissionerate police had arrested Sushil Dhalsamant and Sushant Dhalsamant, two most wanted brothers in several murder, extortion, arms racket and tender fixing cases in the state, from a rented house in Pokhariput area in Bhubaneswar in January 2016.
After the arrest, police raided their house in the CDA area of Cuttack and were in a shock to find nearly Rs 2.35 crore in cash, five luxury vehicles (two Audi and three Mercedes) and huge cache of arms and ammunition stashed in hidden locations of the house.
Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate conducted a probe on money laundering aspects of the Dhalsamanta brothers.
While Sushant has been lodged at the Jharapada jail, his younger brother Sushil is lodged at Balasore jail.
