Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Biju Expressway from Rourkela to Sambalpur at Jharsuguda today.
According to reports, the four-lane 163-km Expressway constructed at a total cost of Rs 1,200 crore is a part of the proposed Rs 3,000-crore 650-km Biju Expressway that would connect major cities of western Odisha and help in effecting development in the region.
According to the schedule, the Chief Minister would land at the Jharsuguda airstrip at 11.40 am and then inaugurate the expressway. He would unveil the expressway and address a public meeting at the Panchapada High School in Jharsuguda.
As many as four platoons of police force have been deployed to ensure smooth visit of the CM. The Jharsguguda SP and many police officers will guard the visit.
According to information, Congress MLA Naba Das will attend the meeting. He is stated to have announced that the Congress would not oppose the CM’s visit when he would developmental programmes.
