Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik skipped the Dhamara port LNG terminal bhumi pujan programme as the event was politicised by the BJP, said BJD Rajya Sabha member Pratap Keshari Deb.

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday through a letter invited Patnaik to attend the ground breaking ceremony of 5MMTPA LNG (Liqufied natural gas) terminal at Dhamra Port in Bhadrak.

An invitation card of the ground breaking ceremony was also jointly released by GAIL, Indian Oil and Adani Group mentioning ‘Bhumi Pujan’ by Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha in the august presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.

“Union Petroleum Ministry had invited the CM for the ceremony. Firstly, it was said that it is a Government programme and the CM gave his consent accordingly. Later the event was politicised. So the CM skipped the event,” said Deb.
