Bhubaneswar: Train services were disrupted at various railway stations in the State as BJD activists staged a ‘Rail Roko’ for an hour from 7am to 8 am this morning in protest against low allocation for Odisha in the Railway Budget.
According to information, ‘Rail Roko’ were staged by BJD at the Khetarajpour railway station in Sambalpur district and at the Brahmapur railway station in Ganjam district for one hour.
Hundreds of party workers sat on the tracks, disrupting movement of trains for an hour. Due to Rail Roko, the Brahmapur-Bhadrak fast passenger and Neelachal Express trains were stranded at the two stations, respectively. However, train services have been normal after the ‘Rail Roko’ was over at 8 am, according to reports said.
